Westfalia Metal Hoses Germany celebrates its 110th anniversary

On Saturday, 7 July 2018, Westfalia Metallschlauchtechnik celebrated its 110th anniversary in Hilchenbach. More than 390 employees and guests took part. About 90 children enjoyed various games or took the chance to take funny pictures with a photo box. More than half of the guests took part in organized factory tours.

Christian Diemer, CEO of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group, emphasized in a short speech the innovative power of Westfalia that has been ongoing since the company was founded in 1908. The gas-tight metal hose produced at the site has already made it into the third generation in just a few years. Used as a decoupling element, it helps commercial vehicle manufacturers worldwide to meet the increasingly stringent exhaust emission legislation.

Commenting on the long history of the Hilchenbach production site, Christian Diemer said: "We are enthusiastic about Westfalia's ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment and always see the associated change as an opportunity. On behalf of the shareholders and all colleagues of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Westfalia employees for their daily hard work and loyalty.

Together with three further production sites in the USA, the Czech Republic and China, the Westfalia Germany site forms the Westfalia Metal Hoses Business Unit of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group a. With around 500 employees, the Business Unit generates approximately 15% of the Group's annual turnover.
