Heitkamp & Thumann Group and Vollmann Group agree on Sale of Westfalia Metal Components

Düsseldorf, May 28 - The Heitkamp & Thumann Group reached an agreement with the Vollmann Group on the sale of the operating companies of Westfalia Metal Components. The transaction is expected to be completed by the middle of the year.

Christian Diemer, CEO and General Partner: "With this transaction we are successfully completing the process to focus on our strategic business units H&T Battery Components and H&T Presspart within the Heitkamp & Thumann Group and are fully concentrating our resources on our core competencies and on our strongest markets."

The transaction includes the companies Westfalia Presstechnik GmbH & Co. KG (Crimmitschau, Germany) and Westfalia Metal Components s.r.o. (Hustopeče, Czech Republic). The product range, production capacities and customer relation of Westfalia Metal Components will be an expansion of the buyers offering.

Christian Diemer: "With the Vollmann Group, we found a new shareholder for the business unit that will secure future growth for Westfalia Metal Components and its 300 employees."

H&T ProduktionsTechnologie GmbH in Crimmitschau will continue to remain a strategic business of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group who supplies, among other things, equipment for the production of battery components.

Axel Vollmann, CEO and Shareholder of the Vollmann Group: "Our group of companies has grown very strongly in Germany and Eastern Europe in recent years. Extensive investments in presses with a press capacity of 800 to 1,600 tons would have become necessary for further orders recently received, in particular for e-mobility. The acquisition of Westfalia Metal Components with its plants in Crimmitschau (Saxony) and Hustopeče (near Brno, Czech Republic) offered an ideal option to these alternative investments in our existing plants in the Ore Mountains region (Erzgebirge) and in Planá nad Lužnicí (Czech Republic). In addition the large press plant in Crimmitschau offers the opportunity for presses with a pressing force of over 2,000 tons."

The Vollmann Group (Gevelsberg, Germany) is a family owned group of companies focused on the manufacture and sale of metal and plastic components for the automotive industry and its suppliers. The company employs 1,350 people and has 11 production sites in Germany, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
