Takeover of the operating companies of Balda AG: Heitkamp & Thumann bid has been revoked

Düsseldorf, 01 February 2016 – The Heitkamp & Thumann Group, a leading global manufacturer of precision formed components made of metal and plastic, announces that its bid to acquire the operating companies of Balda AG, Bad Oeynhausen, approved in December, was revoked at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Hanover, held last Friday, 29 January 2016.

Christian Diemer, General Partner and CEO of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group commented, “We are of course disappointed that the Balda AG shareholders have retracted their decision to sell the Balda Group's operating business to the Heitkamp & Thumann Group. We would nevertheless like to wish the future owners all the very best and every success in managing the companies.“

As regards the family-owned business group's growth strategy, Peter Schmelzer, General Partner and Chairman of the H&T Presspart Division said, “We are now going to expand our production capacities at the existing H&T Presspart sites in Marsberg and Tarragona in order to keep up with the continuing high demand for our innovative products.“
