2. INNODAY on September 19th 2013 in Crimmitschau

September 2013
2. INNODAY in Crimmitschau was dominated by topics around light weight construction.

Dragonfly Libby as the leading image, innovative lightweight hybrid structures, HSD developments, energy storage for more eMobility, servo spindle presses and other lightweight themes dominated the 2nd INNODAY of WESTFALIA Presstechnik and H&T ProduktionsTechnologie.

Inspired by this model from living nature, the automotive supplier WESTFALIA Presstechnik and the tools and special machine builder H & T Produktionstechnologie (HTPT) are guided vividly in the development of lightweight innovation. Thus the dragonfly called Libby, constructed from high-strength steel, aluminum, cardboard and honeycomb was hovering over the 2nd INNODAY of both companies which took place in late September.

Mathias Schwarzendahl, Managing Director of WESTFALIA and HTPT, welcomed more than 100 customers, partners and suppliers to the newly built and still kept free WESTFALIA logistics hall. The reason for the second INNODAY after 1998 were several anniversaries: WESTFALIA Presstechnik celebrated its 15th anniversary; HTPT looks back on a 60 -year-old metal forming tradition that dates back to 1953, founded as the Institute for plastic forming of metals in Zwickau and has been operating  under the umbrella of the Heitkamp & Thumann Group for ten years now. The Chairman of the Advisory Board Jürgen R. Thumann stressed that the Crimmitschau location with its components for car seats, chassis and bodywork and the metal forming machinery make an important contribution to highly demanded and sustainable products. Innovation is therefore the key to this success story.
